School Clothing

In line with one of our school rules, which is to respect yourself, we ask that all children wear our school unifom. We would like to encourage children to wear a simple smart uniform, which is practical and which helps to promote a ready to learn approach to the school day.The colours blue and grey allow a number of combinations for boys and girls:

  • boys - grey/navy trousers or shorts;  grey/white/blue shirt;  grey/blue sweater, dark sensible shoes.
  • girls - grey/blue skirt or dress;  blue/white blouse;  grey/blue pullover or cardigan, dark sensible shoes.

Fleeces, sweatshirts and jackets bearing the school logo are available from the school office.

We ask that they do not wear clothing such as football kit, loud patterned Bermuda shorts, cycle shorts, denims, hooded tops and combat trousers. Please ensure that footwear is sensible and dark. Football boots, or trainers are not permitted as school shoes. Hooded tops may be worn for outdoor use but are not permitted in the class rooms. If a child comes to school with only a hooded top as their jumper they will be given a school jumper instead. Girls should not wear make-up.

In addition, every child needs -

 i)          P.E. and games kit - plimsolls/trainers, T-shirt/football shirt, shorts, and socks.  During the winter children are encouraged to wear tracksuits or sweatshirts for their outdoor games lessons.

ii)        Protective apron for art and craft activities.  An old shirt or apron will do.

iii)       Swimming costume and towel for swimming lessons. Your child is welcome to wear goggles.

PLEASE  MAKE  SURE  THAT  ALL  CLOTHING  IS  CLEARLY  MARKED  WITH  YOUR  CHILD'S  NAME.

Personal Property

Valuables such as toys, electrical equipment, jewellery (except watches) should not be brought to school unless they have been specifically requested by the class teacher.  In the interests of children’s health and safety, only studs should be worn in pierced ears. The child must be able to remove them for P.E. themselves. This is according to local authority guidance.

Lost Property

Un-named items of clothing or equipment will be kept by the school secretary and occasionally displayed for children or parents to claim. Please name everything, if it is named, we are able to return the property promptly.
