Year 3 Curriculum
Your child has been introduced to Skoolbo this September. Skoolbo is a fun interactive computer game that works on maths and reading skills.
Each child has their own log in and the programme monitors how well the child performs in each game and adjusts the difficulty of the game to suit their ability. It is a great way to practice their skills and have fun at the same time.
We celebrate the children’s progress and success in our celebration assemblies on Fridays. The programme will record how many correct answers they get each week. The class that have answered the most questions get to look after Monty the Maths Monkey for a week. Individual children are also celebrated when they reach certain milestones such as 10,000 correct answers.
Attached to this letter is your child’s individual log in. To access the programme at home you need to go to the website www.skoolbo.co.uk. They can play direct from this website by clicking on play or you can download the game to a tablet or phone so they can play when offline. The instructions and more information about the programme are available in the parent’s booklet. This can be found on the download tab on the Skoolbo website or on our school website.
We have found playing Skoolbo regularly really helps the children progress when learning key skills and keeps them sharp. We would encourage the children to play it for 10 – 20 minutes every day at home.
