Heads Blog

Well, it doesn't feel like it's ever going to stop raining! However, here at Hartford we have had several 'sunny periods'.

We had squeals of excitement as a couple of our yr4 children watched mummy dove feed her chick on our video link with their nest. They wrote down that 'the dove looked round and smiled at the camera'.

Our family bingo was a huge success, raising over £200, which will go towards the new trim trail. A big thank you for those that came and those that helped. Our next 'Friends' event is the quiz on Friday 25th May.

Year 4 have done some fantastic art work based on Georgia O' Keefe. It will certainly brighten up the classroom and year 5 art was based on Aboriginal artwork.

Year 5 have been writing poetry. Let me share a couple with you. They are just amazing!

This week was probably not the best for outside work but on Wednesday we had a dedicated group of rather 'mad' gardeners digging out ready fro our new pond. The development of the nature trail has been on the agenda for many years. Mrs Gray -Thomas and her eco councillors braved the torrential rain and, armed with spades, ( and a little help from a digger) managed to dig out the pond and begin landscaping the surrounding area. I really must mention the sodden, cold and brave parents who volunteered to help us at the last minute. You were stars. Thank you. We had been sponsored by Barclays but at the last minute they were unable to send any physical support.  Our troup of parents stepped in at the last minute and saved the day with help from our gardeners The Pink Ladies.

We have a lot of lost property at the moment, incuding 3 jackets. Please come and have a look.

Next week we have a football match planned for Tuesday and our yr 4 children are invited to play on a Wednesday
